Churches Together have been organising this tradition of witness to the wider public for 40 years. Initially as a procession along Balham High Road, but more recently in the community space by the car park at the rear of Sainsbury's in Balham where it will be held again this year.

It's an important occasion, when the Passion story is told through gospel readings, hymns, prayers and narrative and is an opportunity to share our act of Christian worship with others from local churches, visitors and passers by.

The service lasts around 45 minutes. Gospel singers from the New Testament Assembly will sing a couple of songs to complement the more traditional hymns. Refreshments are served afterwards at the kiosk in the back wall of Sainsbury's.
